ALZHEIMER'S: Team Players Prevail
Is it true that two heads are better than one?
The theory that two caregivers are better than one was borne out in a study at the Indiana University Center for Aging Research. They found that Alzheimer’s patients treated by a “collaborative care” team—not just primary doctors—had fewer behavioral symptoms. And, their caregivers were much less stressed and depressed. Such teams shore up treatment with coordinated support services. The approach is already used for those with diabetes and people with congestive heart failure.
