WRITE IT OUT
Power of the pen
Looking for a way to relax and have some fun with the person in your care? Whether as a memory exercise or just a way to express oneself in an effort to de-stress, writing can work wonders. Try it. Either at the computer or with pad and pen in hand, write stories or poetry together.
Here are the rules:
First, there are no rules.
Length is not an issue. Write as long or as short an item as you want, simply attempting to say what you wish.
Choose a topic. It could be anything from “The First Time I Saw a Hummingbird” to “Why I Hate/Love Spring” to “A Trick I Played on My Brother/Sister” to “Where I Wish I Could Be Now….” Anything that enters your mind.
Feel free. Say what you want, how you want. Be playful. Be gentle. Be outrageous. Just be you…or who you’d like to be at that very moment.
